Working method
The Netherlands Institute for Heritage supports the entire heritage sector; it also advises, facilitates, implements, initiates, reflects and orchestrates. Cohesion and cooperation are key to the way it approaches its tasks and designs its projects.
Developments in the culture sector
The programme lines are based on significant developments in the culture sector:
- the growing attention for art and culture as essential elements of society (cultural citizenship)
- the increasingly close relationship between heritage and landscape
- the growing interest in a stronger international cultural policy
Criteria: current trends and demands
The Netherlands Institute for Heritage also looks closely at current trends and demands in the heritage sector. All its activities meet the following criteria:
- they make a lasting contribution to the position of the heritage sector in society
- they are intended for professionals and/or heritage volunteers
- their results must be transferable and cover the entire heritage sector
- they must be innovative and creative
- the organisation, implementation and results must be transparant
