About the programme

The Netherlands Institute for Heritage coordinates the International Visitors Programme for the entire cultural heritage sector. The institute has a budget for 28 visits a year, as the programme runs from January to December annually. The objectives of The Netherlands Institute for Heritage are to facilitate visits that contribute to the exchange of expertise and collections and stimulate further professionalisation in the wider field of cultural heritage. The subsidy contributes to international development; dissemination and exchange of knowledge and broadens the experience and knowledge of the Dutch cultural heritage work approach abroad. The programme aims at stimulating international cultural relations through the establishment and maintainance of sound mutual contacts, which may promote a stronger international cultural profile for the Netherlands in the field of archives, monuments, archaeology, museums and cultural landscapes.
